How to stay positive and confident
Don’t let everything that’s going on in the world distract you from appreciating the beauty that is you. At Dawn, we care about your well being and that’s why we’ve put together these tips that can help you be more positive and confident.
Pamper yourself often
Giving yourself a little extra TLC every now and then can go a long way in improving your self-esteem and confidence. If you want to change how you feel about who you are, then you have to start by taking care of yourself, because if you don’t, who will?
There are plenty of ways that you can pamper yourself at home. We recommend that you light some scented candles and try meditating. Meditating is quite easy to do, you just need to sit comfortably in a quiet place, close your eyes and place all your attention on your breathing. Research shows that meditating for as little as ten minutes regularly can assist in improving concentration, reducing stress and enhancing self-awareness.
Finally, end the day off by taking a long hot bath and once you’re clean and dry, apply one of our nourishing body lotions on your skin. If you have dry skin, you want to use a lotion that will give your skin a little extra moisture, and for that we recommend you use Dawn Cocoa Butter & Coconut Oil Body Lotion for very dry skin that delivers up-to 48 hour moisturisation.
Read self-help books
The best thing about self-help books is that they have a way of helping you interpret yourself and the world more positively. When you read inspiring books regularly, it floods your brain with positive and uplifting concepts which is exactly what everyone needs to boost their self-esteem. Remember that these books don’t change your life- they help you enhance it.
Write down things you love about yourself
Write down your hobbies, positive things about yourself or kind things that people have said about you. This will uplift your mood in the moment and on days that you feel a little down, look back at these things to remind yourself that there are plenty of great aspects about you.
Eat a healthy diet
When you eat good food, you feel good, because you are what you eat after all. Avoid food with high amounts of sugar, oil and salt. Make sure that your diet is filled with fruits, vegetables, fish, nuts and beans to keep your body healthy and fuller for longer. These foods are high in nutrients you need for a healthier and happier you!
Find a new hobby
It’s important to have a hobby because there are so many things in our day-to-day lives that can cause stress. Most hobbies are stress-relieving and they include; dancing, reading, gardening or doing yoga. Pick a hobby/hobbies that work for you to keep stress to a minimum and happiness to a maximum.
We hope these tips change your life for the better and improve your overall well-being.
