Best Exercises for Clear Skin

There’s no doubt that the secret to clear, healthy skin is through your diet and lifestyle. You could have the world’s best skin care regime, but it would be all for nothing if you don’t take proper care of your skin. In actual fact, the perfect skincare routine is a balanced, healthy lifestyle and quality skin-nourishing products.

Here at Dawn, our goal is for both men and women to feel confident, happy and empowered in their skin. One of the best things you can do for your skin is to love it from the inside out and build up sweat at least three times a week. Exercise is more than just toning up and taking care of your body, it helps to promote clear, glowing skin too. Here are some of the best exercises for glowing skin that you can incorporate into your daily routine.

1. Facial yoga

Facial yoga is a growing trend that claims to deliver skin-lifting effects without botox or surgery. It tightens up your facial muscles and helps your skin feel firmer and toned within a couple of sessions. There are many different types of facial yoga exercises that you can do to help you get natural glowing skin such as fish lips, kiss face and the whistler.

2. Running

Running is the equivalent of giving yourself a facial that you’ve always deserved. When we sweat, our pores open and all of the dirt and oil is flushed out. This in turn, gives you that filter-finish look, without the filter of course. You don’t have to go to the gym for that treadmill, you can take a jog around the block or beach to get that blood pumping. Your skin will thank you for unclogging those pores! Remember to always apply sunscreen when exercising outdoors.

3. Swimming

We know that chlorine can be an irritant and have different effects on all skin types, but there are some antibacterial properties in chlorine that can actually help prevent breakouts. Swimming is classed as the best exercise for weight loss, and skin tone improves with weight loss so you will get clear skin and body goals in one activity.

4. Aerobics

If your natural skincare routine doesn’t have high-intensity workouts as an added extra, then you’re missing out! Aerobics is a great exercise for clear skin and boosts your skin’s collagen production. Collagen is responsible for elasticity and excellent joint health. We’ll gladly take those aerobics classes thank you very much!

5. Weight and body-weight training

Whether you have a home gym or prefer to go to your local gym, weight training works miracles for your body and your skin. Any form of weight training tones your muscles that exist underneath your skin, and when our muscles are tighter, our skin becomes more youthful looking. Add weight training two to three times a week for the best results.

Natural skincare is more than just the expensive serums and scrubs you invest in for your skin, it’s about a balanced and healthy lifestyle. It’s time to take charge of your skin and level up your exercise game for that natural, glowing skin. P.S. don’t forget to pack your essentials in your gym bag, like your favourite Dawn Women’s or Men’s deodorant to stay fresh and smell fresh all day.
